Auckland have earned the home final on the back of finishing first in the regular season standings. The match will showcase the two best sides from this year’s competition and promises to build on the legacy of provincial rugby in New Zealand.
Allowing the supporters of rugby in Auckland to enjoy such a spectacle without any obstacles is an unprecedented move, and one Auckland Rugby and Eden Park feel is worthy of celebration.
“Our supporters have backed us through thick and thin. This is a chance to celebrate our fans and we’re looking forward to enjoying with them an experience to support finals rugby,” said Auckland Rugby CEO Jarrod Bear.
“Our relationship with Eden Park has allowed us to continue to strengthen our connection to the Auckland community through this unique opportunity.”
Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner is also excited about welcoming the community to the spiritual home of rugby in New Zealand, where for some it will be a new experience, and for others, a chance to add to their memories at the park.
